Samsung, first TV manufacturer to integrate NFTs

Samsung announced plans for expanded NFT support starting with its 2022 line of TVs that will allow users to watch their non-fungible tokens on a smartphone or laptop screen.

“With demand for NFTs on the rise, the need for a solution to today’s fragmented viewing and shopping landscape has never been greater,” the company said in a press release. “In 2022, Samsung is introducing the first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator, a revolutionary platform that allows you to browse, buy and display your favorite artworks, all in one place.”

According to Samsung, this platform will allow creators to “share their art with the world” and potential buyers: to view an NFT before making a purchase and to learn about the history and metadata of an NFT’s blockchain.

To view NFTs on its 2022 TVs. Samsung plans an intelligent calibration feature on the TVs that will automatically adjust display settings “to the creator’s preset values, so you can have peace of mind knowing your work is flawless, with image quality true to the original.”
